Looking for something fun to do while visiting Seattle? New to the city? I’ve got your basics covered!

1. Take the Iconic Ferry
What better way to experience the city than to ride in on an iconic Puget Sound Ferry and begin your day with views of the breathtaking skyline! Along your ride you may catch sight of jellyfish, otters, and even an orca if you’re lucky! You can also catch a glimpse of Mount Rainier, the Space Needle, and the Ferris Wheel. The Ferry will drop you off right at the perfect place to explore the piers and downtown shops.

2. Pike’s Marketplace
Explore Seattle’s biggest and best marketplace in the heart of the city! Enjoy vendors that boast a diverse selection of items from flowers, to artisan goods, to fruits and fish. There’s even an underground portion of the marketplace that has established businesses with unique offerings. My favorite is Old Seattle Paperworks where you can find historical posters and magazines.

3. The Original Starbucks
Visit the place that started it all! Get a drink from the original Starbucks and enjoy merchandise only offered at the one store. Located right next to Pike’s Marketplace.

4. Tour the Space Needle (and Chihuly exhibit)
Enjoy panoramic views of Seattle and Puget sound from the Space Needle! You’ll also get to experience the moving platform that gives you a 360 view. Below the Needle is the Chihuly exhibit where you’ll witness glass blown art by the master himself. Washington is the home to the glass artist and therefor holds the most of his work. Enjoy a delightful walk through of glass sculptures that are mind-blowingly incredible!

5. Explore the Seattle Aquarium
The Puget Sound is known for a myriad of unique and special marine life. What better way to experience this than to visit a world-renowned aquarium nestled right in the heart of downtown Seattle and only a stone’s throw away from the iconic Pike Place Market. Enjoy aquatic life ranging from otters to jellyfish to deep sea fish. Don’t miss out on my favorite, the Open Ocean exhibit!
